ELP supports four Family Resource Centers, with medical
clinics for uninsured children that are staffed by the
four school districts in York County and volunteers
from Rock Hill Pediatrics. There are many families in
York County who do not have medical insurance. The parents can’t
afford medical insurance, and as a result, the children
suffer.
Recently, a York
County teacher discovered a child had suffered for many
days with a broken hand because he knew his family could
not afford medical insurance. This teacher referred the
student’s family to the school district, which referred
the family to one of York County’s Family Resource
Center. At the Center’s free medical clinic, the child
was treated properly and his pain was alleviated.
Free medical
clinics are just one of the remarkable programs ELP
offers to families in York County.
Free medical
clinics are located in each of the four resource
centers.
